Amazon Cognito User Poolsとはユーザー名簿管理サービスである.
User Poolsの機能
User Pools単体を用いることで
- 名簿の作成・管理
- ユーザーの追加・メール認証・削除
- password管理
- ユーザー属性の管理・呼び出し
- ログイン/セッション管理
などが出来る.
他の機能と連携することにより、他のAWSへアクセスしたりが可能になる.

AWS SDKとの兼ね合い
AWS SDK (mainline)とUser Pool SDK (amazon-cognito-identity-js)は依存性の問題を理由に統合されていない.
Due to dependencies, we have chosen to keep the user pools SDK separate. There is no timeline for integration at this point.

JavaScript 用 Amazon Cognito Identity SDK は、JavaScript 対応アプリケーションがユーザーを登録し、ユーザーを認証し、Amazon Cognito Identity サービス内でユーザー属性を表示、削除、更新できるようにします。
その他の機能として、認証されたユーザーのパスワードの変更と、認証されていないユーザーがパスワードを忘れた場合のフローの開始から完了までが含まれます。
